Janet at Maidcity (Kovan) made the whole process of hiring a Myanmar helper refreshingly easy. She listened carefully to what we were looking for and quickly sent us more than fifteen profiles to consider, then arranged overseas interviews with our shortlisted candidates at the agreed time without any delay. Every document was neatly organised in a folder and clearly explained before we signed, and the handover of our new helper at the agency went smoothly. Janet even took the time to remind us what to expect from a helper in her new home, which we appreciated. Thank you, Janet, for your professionalism and kind assistance. We would happily recommend you to anyone looking for a helper.

Highly recommended Serene from Maidcity (Toa Payoh)! ❤️ We had to make a rather last-minute decision to hire a domestic helper to take care of my mum after she had a bad fall. The doctors and therapist at the hospital advised us that she was not suitable to stay at home alone, so we needed to find a helper as soon as possible. Serene is a very nice and helpful lady. She took the time to understand our needs and recommended a helper accordingly. During the interview, she also guided us through the process and helped us ask the right questions. Once we confirmed our choice, everything went smoothly and quickly. In less than a month, our helper was here with us! 😊 Even after our helper settled in, we had some questions and concerns along the way. Serene was always willing to help, including speaking to our helper and advising us on how to handle certain situations. Overall, we are very thankful to Serene for her patience, guidance and support throughout the whole process. We are also very thankful to our helper, Mon, for taking care of my mum. ❤️ Thank you so much, Serene and Maidcity! 🙏🏻
Janet helped us to onboard a maid in one week after interviewing. We are satisfied with the service so far. Recommended.

She asked all the right questions and showed that she really cared about placing the right helper for us! Hard to find such a sincere agent and we will look for her again If we need another helper!

Stella has been helpful in finding a good match for my helper back in 2024 - she knows what I want and need and is able to help identify suitable candidates. As the helper back then wanted to terminate her contract early, we unfortunately were unable to get a replacement from Maidcity soon enough - took a week to provide potential helpers’ info. Subsequently we had to go through another agency but that was a failed one and I got back to Stella and got a good fit in a short time frame.

She is very efficient, professional, and took the time to understand our needs before recommending a Myanmar helper who was an excellent match. Our helper had good medical knowledge, spoke English well, and took great care of my father-in-law. Unfortunately, my father-in-law has since been admitted to a nursing home, so we no longer needed a helper. Janet immediately offered to help find a new employer for our helper, which we really appreciated. Thank you, Janet, for your excellent service. I highly recommend Janet and Maid City to anyone looking for a reliable maid agency.

I found Maidcity online after searching for an agency that genuinely understands the needs of local heartland families, and I am glad I did. Our journey started with a bit of a hiccup when our interviewee on the first session at MaidCity didn’t show up. I was ready to walk away, feeling like it was a wasted trip. However, Mdm Atien from the Clementi branch completely turned things around. Refusing to let us leave empty-handed, she stepped up immediately, listened closely to our requirements, and arranged an alternative candidate on very short notice. Admittedly, I was skeptical at first because the helper was a transfer who had been on her job for barely a month. But Mdm Atien’s confidence convinced us to at least try a quick video call. That initial chat went surprisingly well! While my dad and I went out for a coffee break to think it over, Mdm Atien wasted no time and immediately arranged for an in-person, face-to-face interview right after. Hiring a helper is always a bit of a gamble, but sitting down with Mdm Atien changed everything. Her immense experience in handling both employers and employees, alongside her ability to set clear, realistic expectations, deeply resonated with me. Her dedication gave us the confidence to make the decision and engage the interviewee right then and there—all within a single session. It has been 3 weeks now, and the match has been within expectation. My dad, who is the primary caregiver, is coping well using a mix of basic Mandarin and English with our Myanmar helper. Her prior nursing background and her sensitivity to my mom’s needs tell me that we made the right choice. We are firmly on the right track, and we have Mdm Atien to thank for it. If you visit the Clementi branch, look for her

Janet from Maid City made the process of engaging a helper very easy. As they had helpers on the early placement scheme brought in already, we were able to interview our helper face to face and make our decision promptly.

I am writing to commend Janet for her above and beyond work ethics to ensure her customers' expectations and special requirements are compatible with the skill sets and dispositions of her pools of domestic helpers. Prior to talking to Janet, I already had visited three other agencies and even had a couple of helpers shortlisted to take care of my 85 years old widow mother who is 85% blind and diagnosed with onset dementia. My mom had lived with three sons but due to her strong personality and stubbornness, she eventually landed herself living alone. I asked for a job relocation which allowed her to stay with me and my husband. I thought I had more time to review the shortlisted candidates and decide for one to be my mom's companion but, a sudden change in my work assignment left me in a dire situation to secure a helper and train her up within 2 weeks. That was when Janet was recommended to me. In short, my application as a first time hirer was approved by MOM in less than 24 hours, all thanks to Janet's capable hands. Janet "match-make" my mom's profile with a helper with great confidence and assurance when I wasn't even sure. From my first phone conversation to face-to-face meeting with the helper and finally taking the helper home with us, the entire process took 4 business days ! The helper is a first timer, but her attention to my mom's needs and moods, my demanding work, and to my husband's always-want-to-do-something behavior, exceeds our expectations. I had the privilege to listen (and observe) to some conversations between Janet and the helpers in her agency during a few visits. Janet was not just mentoring the helpers but exhibiting her true nature as a caring and compassionate person, only wanting the very best for the helpers and their employers. In summary, I am glad Janet was sent to me, and through her eagle eye and a listening heart, she match-made my almost blind mom (and with dementia !), my husband and my work (I am a workaholic) with Maya (not the helper's real name) as she did for three of my friends. Give Janet a try if you are reading this review. Janet is a self-driven individual and will not stop until she finds you the right domestic match ! I think I want those qualities in an agent whom I can entrust and depend on to take care of my loved one.

As a 1st timer employing a helper, I cannot thanked Janet enough for she was so thorough to guide me through the criterias. I am so impressed that even during her off days n PH or late into the night, she never fails to answer my calls promptly. She is so meticulous to ask me all my requirements then filtered out the suitable ones n pre interviewed them unlike other agents who just dump bios to me. I highly recommend her to anyone who is looking for a helper and I can vouch for her efficiency, passion, dedication and responsibility from beginning to the end. Thankful that my helper is doing good and settling into my family well. It was indeed a wonderful 1st time experience which was so seamless when everyone told me its going to be a daunting task with all the horror stories you hear....and it is all because I found the right agent. Kudos to Janet and Maidcity Kovan

Salute to your love and passion to the profession. Thanks.

No, got in touch with Serene, who handled everything from day one seamlessly, efficiently and in so pleasant a manner VIRTUALLY. Her helpful, warm and accommodating manner came across in texts and phonecalls so much so you couldn't help feel like you had a friend in your agent. And yet we haven't met in person. A totally pleasant experience dealing with Maidcity, not a common experience dealing with employment agencies in general.

Serene from Maidcity Toa Payoh was very patient and took the time to answer all my questions clearly. She also gave me valuable advice that helped me make the right decision. Serene was exceptional and really helpful in helping us find a suitable helper. After every interview with the helper, she would check on what we thought about each helper and analyse the pros and cons. If we still wanted to interview more helpers, Serene would do a 1st round interview and help sieve out the ones that aren't suitable for us base on our previous conversations, this helps speed up the process. Would definitely introduce to friends 👍🏻

First came across Maidcity in July 2024 when we were urgently seeking a helper to look after my mother. They were quick to respond to my enquiries, took the time to understand our needs, and was able to provide advice and recommendations. Serene was patient and clear in her explanation of the process and administrative matters. Our first helper was confirmed within 1.5 weeks and worked for us for almost 6 months; due to unforeseen circumstances, we had to look for a new helper who joined us within a week of confirmation. The transition process was smooth and Serene and her admin team were efficient in the administrative work. They also followed up with us and shared feedback that would help us better manage our new helper. The family is grateful and appreciate the efforts put in by Serene and admin team and we recommend Maidcity for a fuss-free MDW employment process.

Knowing of my situation, Shirley has displayed good judgement and diligence in shortlisting suitable candidates according to my stringent requirements. She is also very responsive and reply to my queries even during Christmas and New Year holidays. I have ever encountered other agencies whom will capitalise on my urgent situation and recommend me undesired candidates. Shirley from Maidcity stood out as an exception. She is definitely an asset to your search for good helpers. Do contact her.

Employed a Myanmmar helper through Agent Stella a month ago. Despite our family's indecisiveness of changing our previous helper from another agent some months back, eventhough there was an APS helper who is suited for our family needs upon her recommendation, she was still always open to questions and helping us along. Long calls and face time with her proves her attentiveness, proactive positive vibes gave us even more confidence that we can rely and trust her with our search on a reliable helper. True enough, we have here with us our current one! I have to say Stella is a super patient, helpful and resourceful agent who will open her ears to listen deeply to our problems and in turn advise us accordingly. Can be trusted and rely on which explains how we turned to become friends too. Thumbs up to Maidcity on having Stella as well as the good service provided!

Had a transfer maid but slightly over a mth, maid wanted to go home to attend to her mom who had a stroke. Atin was able to quickly arrange a maid for replacement. But Atin was cautious to recommend only suitable one. With her large data base on hand + recommendation, our current maid is one of the best choice. To date, our new maid is well-liked by all of our family members.
Shout out to Ms Shirley. She was so patient to guide me through the process. It's so hassle-free and was very satisfied with the service.
